Fans who flocked to the new Professional Fighters League website to look at the roster of athletes that will compete for the inaugural 1 million dollar tournaments noticed one noticeable name missing from the Heavyweight division, that of former World Series of Fighting champion Blagoi Ivanov.
According to Cyborg Nation favorite Ryan Thomas the WSOF champion will not appear in the PFL as he has been offered a UFC contract, which he will be eligible to sign once he has completely recovered from a small surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus. Earliest the fighter can sign is June.
Blagoi Ivanov with his 16-1 record will be an exciting addition to the UFC Heavyweight division. The fighter from Bulgaria has won 6 of those bouts by way of KO/TKO 6 by way of submission, and has gone to a decision four times. The one loss on the SK Absolute Bulgaria fighter came via submission to UFC Heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov in 2014 when both standouts where fighting for Bellator MMA.
🇧🇬 As some of you noticed, Blagoi Ivanov was not on the #PFL roster announced earlier. It appears he’s been offered a UFC contract but he has had surgery & is undergoing rehab on a torn meniscus. Once recovered he will be eligible to sign. Earliest he will be available is June. pic.twitter.com/wr8uSYk96c
