UFC 310 delivered in terms of excitement and big time matchups. In the main event UFC Flyweight Champion Alexandre Pantoja faced Rizin FF world champion Kai Asakura who made his debut in the UFC following a dominate run in the Japanese based promotion. Pantoja put on a spectacular display of skill to win his 8th straight UFC fight stopping Asakura’s momentum in the 2nd round with a lights out RNC that put his opponent to sleep.
In a battle of unbeatens Shakvat Rakhmonov put his 19-0 record up against the 15-0 Ian Machado Garry and the fight was much more competitive than many predicted after Garry took the fight on short notice following the injury of Belal Muhammad. Shakvat used just enough offence to win 3 rounds to 2 but Ian Machado Garry had his moments with a late 5th round back take that almost secured him the victory.
Ciryl Gane won a controversial split decision over former Bellator MMA champion Alexander Volkov as much of the crowd felt the judges got the decision wrong. In a highlight finish Bryce Mitchell put the BJJ icon and son of Rickson Gracie, Kron Gracie to sleep in the third round after the Gracie fighter attempted to pull guard. Having pulled guard throughout the fight, Mitchell used a series of elbows from on top to KO his opponent, effectively ending the last GRACIE in the UFC by KO. Fight of the night belongs to Doo Ho Choi and Nate Landwehr as Doo Ho Choi put on a specatcular display of striking and grappling to get the 3rd ound TKO.
Prelims featured Dominick Reyes defeating Anthony Smith, Vincent Luque over Themba Gorimbo, Bryan Battle with a split decision over Randy Brown after missing weight, Mosvar Evloev with a controversial split decision over Aljamain Sterling, Eryk Anders with a TKO over Chris Weidman, Johsua Van, Michael Chiesa, Chase Hooper, and Kennedy Nzechukwu also picking up undercard victories.
