
The UFC just held their inaugural event in Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom is already making plans for the promotions return in early 2025. The Fight Night event which took place this past weekend in Riyadh was held at the Kingdom Arena and saw Robert Whittaker score a devastating KO over Ikram Aliskerov halfway through the first round.
With the UFC’s partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia it was also announced that the country will be hosting two power slap events. Alalshikh revealed that the next fight night event would take place early in 2025 stating that Dana White has promised him a big fight card.
Speaking of the success of the show Alalshikh said, “I know the UFC has a lot of fans, but you see now , it’s changing my mind. Noting that the event took place at 1am and had over 12,000 fans in attendance, Alalshikh went on to say, “we want to make it 30,000 here. We are waiting, and we want women also in the next event.”
Fans of Women’s MMA in the middle east might be excited if a matchup between PFL champion Larissa Pacheco and Bellator MMA Champion Cris Cyborg can be made. Cyborg who signed a bout agreement to fight Pacheco for a date Sept. 21st recently told MMA Junkie that the Professional Fighter’s League changed the date of the event and is now uncertain if it will include her participation.
