According to reports on MMA Junkie by reporter Mike Bohn former UFC fighter and One Championship athlete Sage Northcutt has found a new home. Following his departure from One Championship earlier this year it is now being reported that the Karate standout will be signing a multiple fight contract with the Professional Fighter’s League officially making his PFL debut sometime in 2025.
Northcutt who was a young rising prospect in the UFC left as a free agent and signed with One Championship where he had a total of 2 MMA fights during his 5 year contract. The lack of inactivity is something he is looking to change with his new promotion the PFL. 12-3 overall in the sport of MMA Northcutt and the PFL have not officially announced the signing however Bohn was first with the report.
It is still unknown if Sage will compete in the 2025 season tournament or if he will be a member of the Super Fight Series. Norhtcutt now 28 years of age made his UFC debut in 2015 at the age of 19 before joining One Chapionship where he suffered a brutal KO loss to Cosmo Alexandre in his debut and waited another 4 years before having another fight in the promotion. When Northcutt finally made his return in May of 2023 he needed only 39 seconds to pick up his first promotional win visa heel hook, however his inactivity and inability to get fights was clearly an issue.
Cyborg is PFL Champion and Bellator MMA Champion. With only 1 date announced for 2025, fans are anxious for the Professional Fighter’s League to start announcing their 2025 schedule as many athletes have started to complain about inactivity including Patchy Mix, Patricio Pitbull, and Aaron Pico who have all publicly asked for their promotional release.
