The Mayhem from Conor McGregor effected a lot of people, put maybe none more than Ray Borg who was forced out of his fight against Brandon Moreno after his bout was canceled due to corneal abrasions caused by the smashed window from the Conor McGregor assault that took place in Brooklyn.
Speaking with MMA on Sirius Radio, Ray Borg didn’t hold anything back, and let it be known that he feels the correct thing to do would be to apologize to him personally for the actions. While the bout with Brandon Moreno was canceled for UFC 223 in Brooklyn, it has officially been rescheduled for May 19th when the UFC heads to the country of Chile for the first time.
Check out the full quote“[A MAN TO MAN APOLOGY] WOULD MEAN MORE THAN ANYBODY TRYING TO GO TO COURT. TO BE HONEST THAT’S MY THING. EVEN AFTER THE WHOLE THING, AFTER HE GOT OUT OF JAIL, IF HE WOULD HAVE CAME TO ME, MAN TO MAN… THAT’S THE KIND OF THING THAT PLAYS MORE INTO MY EYES THAN MONEY.EVEN IF THERE WAS NO MONEY INVOLVED AND HE JUST CAME UP TO ME, MAN TO MAN AND SAID, ‘YOU KNOW WHAT? I’M REALLY SORRY FOR MY ACTIONS. LET’S BURY THE HATCHET, SQUARE THIS AWAY.’AFTER THIS WHOLE SITUATION…I’M NOT THE BIGGEST CONOR MCGREGOR FAN AT ALL. IF ANYTHING I DON’T EVEN LIKE THE GUY. YOU KNOW, THE WAY HE’S BEEN CONDUCTING HIMSELF, THE RIDICULOUS FANS THAT HE’S BROUGHT UPON US.IF ME AND HIM CAN MEET FACE TO FACE AND SQUARE THINGS OFF, BURY THE HATCHET, THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING MORE IDEAL THAN TRYING TO GO THROUGH THIS WHOLE LITIGATION PROCESS THAT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT HAPPENING.”
.@tazmexufc tells @MieshaTate & @realOCsports that Conor McGregor coming to him man-to-man to clear the air would mean more than anything financial from McGregor’s side. pic.twitter.com/vLq9GvHzoK
