The upcoming boxing fight between former UFC Champions Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans has been cancelled.  With concerns over lack of funds, several fighters including promotional partner Tapia promotions have removed themselves from the upcoming ICS Mania 1.  Sitting ‘Financial and Ethical concerns’ Teresa Tapia Promotions officially announced their removal from the event specifically citing President Gary Lewis plans to hold the event without proper funds to ensure fighter compensation.

Speaking to MMA Fighting Rashad Evans said “Negotiations kind of just fell apart as far as things that me and Rampage were promised going into the fight. It didn’t get fulfilled.”  With the recent boxing experience gained by Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz where both fighters made claims of unfair compensation it appears that Rampage and Rashad Evans have decided not to compete without confirmation of funds.

Rashad Evans last competed at Eagle FC in 2022 following his departure from the UFC after 5 defeats. Rampage Jackson last fought in 2019 against Fedor Emelianenko in Japan where he suffered a first round KO.  Both Rampage and Rashad Evans were UFC light Heavyweight champions.  Rampage a legend in Pride FC had a 12-5 record competing in the biggest shows in Japan, following his UFC Run where he went 8-5 overall, Rampage had some of Bellator MMA’s top fights ending his promotional record 5-3.

No word if Rampage and Rashad Evans boxing fight is going to be re-booked. For Rampage this is the 2nd high profile boxing fight he has had fall apart due to promotional concerns with the first being a fight against Shannon Cannon Briggs which was supposed to take place in Qatar.  Cyborg who is currently 4-0 in professional boxing a 2-0 in exhibitions has had her own issue with boxing promoters.
