The PFL is back Friday in Riyadh Saudi Arabia with a stacked event which is going to make 6 new MMA Millionaires and award 6 new championship belts as the conclusion of the PFL 2024 season is set to be broadcasted live on ESPN + free around the world, with COMBATE TV showcasing the event live in Brazil.
The 2024 playoffs will feature a new rule change which was showcased during the PFL Super Fight PPV–the event will allow Elbows. During the tournament similar to PRIDE FC there was no use of Elbows allowed, the idea being that it limits the amount of cuts and due to the close proximity of fights for those that advance the fewer cuts would hopefully prevent the need for replacement fighters in the season format. With this being the final fights of the season however, the decision was made to bring back the unified use of elbows (including 12:6 elbows recently added to the rules)
The finals are stacked with Brendan Loughane looking for his second tournament victory as he faces Timur Khizriev, Undefeated Dakota Ditcheva looking to advance from her European Championship tournament win into a Global Champion as she faces the #10 ranked female fighter in the world Taila Santos of Brazil. 2x tournament champion Impa Kasanganay will face former Bellator fighter Yagshimuradov while a set of undefeated russians Magomed Umalatov and Shamil Musaev fight in the welterweight finals. Brent Primus will face Gadzhi Rabadanov in the light weight championship with the final million dollar fight being Denis Goltsov against Oleg Popov another all Russia bout.
Showcasing fighters from the PFL MENA divsion other highights include Mohammad Alaqraa against Omar El Dafrawy, Ali Taleb, Slim Trabelsi, Jesus Pinedo, and Hattan Alsaif in showcase bouts. With the rise of Mixed Martial Arts in the Middle East, Riyadh Saudi Arabia will again play host to a premier event, fans can enjoy all the action on ESPN Plus and Combate Brazil.
