Bellator MMA was back in front of a packed house inside of the 3Arena in Dublin for Bellator 299 as the Main event featured Johnny Eblen remaining undefeated after surviving a deep cut from an elbow strike against Fabian Edwards to secure the Ko in the 3rd round via punch and elbows. The Co Main Event also featured Aaron Pico putting on a showcase performance gaisnt Pedro Carvalho earning the TKO victory at 3:05 in the first round.
The biggest upset of the night belonged to Sara Collins of Australia as she defeated local WMMA pioneer Sinead Kavanagh via Split Decision in front of Sinead’s home crowd of Dublin Ireland. With scores of 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 Kavanagh who was looking for another shot at the Bellator MMA Belt will take a step back in the rankings with the performance.
Other notables included Mads Burnell with a decision win over European legend Pedro Carvalho who left his gloves inside the Bellator MMA cage as a sign of his retirement from the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Jay Jay Wilson had a spectacular FOTN performance against Mansour Barnaoui the form M-1 LW champion while Peter Queally X Daneile Miceli ended in a No Contest after a kick opened a gash to the eye of Queally.
