Henry Cejudo suffers 3rd consecutive UFC loss

In 2020 Henry Cejudo defeated Dominick Cruz with a 2nd round TKO to become a double champ in two weight categories for the UFC.  Holding the belt at 125 and 135lbs, Cejudo shocked everyone following the win over Cruz by retiring at UFC 249.  With the retirement Cejudo had solidified his place in the Combat Sports world as a 2 division UFC Champion and an Olympic Gold Medalist wrestler.

3 years later, Cejudo game out of retirement to face Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 in an attempt to recapture the UFC Bantamweight Championship belt.  In a close and competitive fight, Cejudo would lose to Aljamain Sterling by a split decision.  Cejudo would go on to face Merab Dvalishvili losing a decision in 2024.  With his first fight in 2025 Cejudo was looking to get back into the win category with a fight against Yadong Song.

Winning the first round Henry Cejudo started to lose steam in round 2 and round 3 before an eye poke brought a pause to the action in the 3rd round.  Cejudo would take the full 5 minutes to recover from the eye poke allowing the 3rd round to be finished.  The 4th round started before the ref called the Dr into the cage to inspect the eye, where the bout was eventually stopped.

with the 4th round having started in a 5 round fight, the bout went to the score cards where Henry Cejudo was declared the loser once the bout was stopped.  Now 0-3 and winless in 5 years, Cejudo is in a spot in his career where he has never been before.  Other winners at UFC Fight Night included: Anthony Hernandez, Rob Font, Jean Silva, Alonzo Menifield, Ion Cutelaba, Melquizael Costa, Mansur Abdul Malik, Ricky Simon,  Austin Vanderford, Nursulton Ruziboev, and Modestas Bukauskas.
