With just a 2-0 professional record before signing to the UFC to compete at UFC 34 in 2001, Frank Mir eventually went on to become one of the UFC’s youngest champions. With wins over MMA superstars like Brock Lesnar, Roy Nelson, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Cro Cop, Tim Sylvia, Tank Abbott, and Pete Williams Mir has proven himself a DRAW with fans.
Betting on himself after suffering back to back losses in the UFC to Andrei Arlovski at UFC 191 and Mark Hunt at UFC FN 85, Mir signed a one fight contract with BELLATOR MMA ahead of his fight with Fedor Emelianenko. The fight with Fedor, while only 48 seconds was exciting with both fighters rocking each other on the feet uring the first minute of action.
Speaking to TASS.com Frank Mir said,
“I’m fine with health, I signed a contract with Bellator, but it was not for several fights. I do not know where I will continue my career.” Mir may look to continue with Bellator MMA or could pursue outside options like ACB, ONE Championship, and RIZIN for more fights.
