UFC Chile had a hard hit losing the main event and the co main event fights over the weekend. Volkan Oezdemir had visa issues which prevent him from leaving the country in time for UFC CHILE which resulted in the cancelation of his fight against Mauricio Shogun Rua as the CO Main Event, and lead to the rescheduling of it to occur at UFC Hamburg once Oezdemir has had time to sort his visa issues.
With an injury to his hand, Santiago Ponzinibbio who was scheduled to face Kamaru Usman in the main event was force out of the UFC’s first trip to Chile. The native of South America was looking forward to the fight against Usman as the winner was set to move up the rankings.
Usman had remained adamant that the only way he would stay on the card was if he got to face a ranked opponent. We know now that Usman will get his wish and is going to be facing Demian Maia in the Main event of UFC CHILE.
