It was announced today that Cris Cyborg will be making her long awaited return to the sport of MMA when she faces 2x PFL Champion Larissa Pacheco as the Co Main Event to the PFL Superfight PPV series which will be headlined by Francis Ngannou vs PFL Champion Renan Ferreira. The event will have both ESPN and DAZN serving as PPV providers.
No other fights were announced today, however fans were given a clue to prospective matchups as the broadcast will feature 4 champ vs champ fights for a Superfight belt. The location for the Oct. 19th date was not announced. Cyborg who actively campaigned for a fight with Kayla Harrison, will now face Pacheco the fighter who defeated Judo Kayla to become the 2022 Tournament champion at 155lbs, following that performance with a 2023 Featherweight tournament championship. 10 years younger than Cyborg, Pacheco has won her last 10 MMA fights with 7 of them coming via 1st round KO.
Cyborg who last defeated Cat Zingano at Bellator 300 as the Co Main event, has kept busy during her inactivity from MMA with 1st round Boxing wins against Kelsey Wickstrum and Aria Wild. Cyborg who turned 39 this past July announced that this bout with Pacheo will be the start of her ‘Legacy Tour’ which will be the final 3 fights of her MMA career. Fans wanting to see Cyborg’s final fights should be sure to purchase PFL’s PPV Oct. 19th with ESPN or DAZN.
