Cris Cyborg did everything she could to promote a showdown with Judo Kayla, and at the exact moment where it looked like it was going to happen, Kayla Harrison accepted less guaranteed money to leave the PFL promotion following it’s acquisition of Bellator MMA to sign with the UFC. Kayla’s first opponent will be former UFC Champion Holly Holm on the preliminary portions of UFC 300.
Cyborg who is currently booked for an April 27th boxing fight as the main event of Green Bay Fight Night has headed to New Mexico to train with the greatest female boxer to ever win a World Championship in the sport of MMA in Holly Holm. Speaking of the opportunity she had this to say, “Holm is such a legend in two sports. I am excited to be a part of her training camp as she prepares for UFC 300 and I believe she is going to impress a lot of people.”
Holm is a member of JacksonWInk MMA and trains in Albuquerque New Mexico. Cris fought Holly Holm in 2017 and faced Arlene Blencowe twice, and Yana Kunitskaya who also prepared for their bouts out of the historic New Mexico gym. A BJJ Black Belt and a National Wrestler Cris Cyborg will be a grappling partner for Holly Holm as she prepares for Judo Kayla, the two time PFL 2x Olympic Judo Gold medalist.
