There was speculation that Claressa Shields was about to sign a contract to fight in the inaugural Zuffa Boxing event, however with the delay of Amanda Nunes upcoming fight, it seems those plans where placed on the shelf for the time being and no boxing bout was announced.
Today however there is no more speculation, and the GWOAT of female boxing has agreed to a multi fight agreement with the PFL to compete in Mixed Martial Arts bouts for the promotion in 2021 before entering the 2022 Lightweight tournament and her chance at a million dollars.
PFL which currently pays Kayla Harrison a monthly training stipend is rumored to have put together a similar package for Claressa Shields which will give her the ability to focus on MMA training ahead of several showcase fights in 2021 while also having the ability to box with Salita Promotions. Shields a 2x Olympic Gold Medalist is considered the P4P #1 in ladies boxing and is expected to make a quick transition into Mixed Martial Arts competition.
