Bellator MMA continues to prove itself as the biggest and best promotion in Europe as they return to France for the 3rd time after the country finally sanctioned MMA and welcomed the professional sport. Returning to the Accor Arena, it was announced that Bellator 296 is completely sold out.
With a stacked fight card featuring established stars and up and coming fighters Bellator 296 has a main event featuring Gegard Mousasi who will be entering his 60th professional MMA fight at only 37 years of age against Fabian Edwards, the brother of UFC Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards. Gegard who has never lost two fights in a row during his MMA career is coming of a fight against Johnny Eblen where he lost his Bellator MMA Middleweight Championship and will be looking for revenge against Edwards. The winner of this bout is expected to compete for the Championship belt.
Co main event features former Champion Brent Primus in a lightweight tournament bout against French standout Mansour Barnaoui while Douglas Lima returns looking to end his 4 fight losing streak against Costello Van Steenis who owns a win over Main Event fighter Fabian Edwards via Split decision.
The full card is stacked with standouts like Thibault Gouti X Kane Mousah. The lone WMMA fight matches Kickboxing champion Denise Kielholtz against the 6-1 Brazilian Paula Cristina. Undefeated Sarvarjon Khamidov, Yves Landu, Piotr Niedzielski, Tim Wilde, Fabacary Diatta, and Sion Biyong are other notables looking to build their resume with a strong performance tonight in Paris.
Following the Bellator 296 prelims the main fight card will be available on Showtime Sports in the USA and Combate in Brazil.
