Professional Fighters League officially did their first event since the acquisition of Bellator MMA and with that came the formation of the PFL X Bellator MMA PPV which took place Saturday live from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event matched 6 fights from PFL with 6 fighters from Bellator MMA with Bellator MMA winning the first 5 bouts with PFL only winning 1 of the fights.
AJ McKee took out Clay Collard in the 1st round with a guillotine, triangle, armbar transition which started team Bellator MMA up 1-0. Yoel Romero kept the ball rolling with a decision over Thiago Santos with scores of 30-27 on two judges cards and 29-28 on one. Vadim Nemkov made quick work of Bruno Cappelozza at heavyweight scoring an arm triangle in the 2nd round to put Bellator MMA up 3-0. Jason Jackson put on a showcase against Ray Cooper III scoring at will with leg kicks. Jackson picked up the TKO in the 2nd round via GNP putting Bellator MMA up 4-0. The closest battle of the night took place between Johnny Eblen and Impa Kasanganay with Eblen winning by split decision. The only fight that PFL captured was Renan Ferreira over Ryan Bader. Bader who is now in his 40’s suffered a 21 second loss to the giant Renan Ferreira.
While it was reported Francis Ngannou would face the winner of the Heavyweight bout between Ryan Bader and Renan Ferreira there was no faceoff inside of the cage following the Brazilian’s victory. With the performance the Bellator MMA roster is now 10-1 against Co promoted bouts between PFL and Rizin rosters.
