It appears the MMA Vs Boxing crossover fights that we have seen in recent years will not be stopping anytime soon as UFC Megastar Jorge Masvidal announced a new Gambred Boxing fight card that will feature a few UFC legends and a main event which will feature former UFC Champion Anthony Pettis against former Boxing P4P great Roy Jones Jr in a professional boxing fight that will not be ruled an exhibition match.
Gamebred Boxing 4 will take place on the 1st of April and will also feature Jose Aldo Vs Jeremy Stephenx, Ronaldo Jacare Souza vs Vitor Belfort Paul Daley Vs Anthony Taylor and Pearl Gonzalez against Gina Mazany. Masvidal himself will be returning to the UFC cage the following week as he faces Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 on April 8th. Speaking on the MMA Hour Jorge Masvidal had this to say, “I’ve always been a fan of Jones. Always wanted to work with Roy Jones in some capacity. He’s going to be fighting someone that inspired me in my career numerous times. WEC champion, UFC Champion, I think both his wins for the UFC title were finishes. This guy has knockouts and finishes at 145,155, 170, it’s crazy what this guy has done n his career in MMA. Great Striker. He agreed to fight the walking, living legend, the pound for pound king, one of the best fighters, athletes, I’ve ever seen in combat sports, period, Vs. Pettis.
What do you think? Will Jorge Masvidal become the face of boxing with his new promotion? Could we see Cris Cyborg compete on a Gamebred Boxing event? Leave your comments below.
