It was a battle between two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions this weekend in Las Vegas as bot the CJI and ADCC both held events over the weekend. CJI took place at the Thomas & Mac event center which was where ADCC was held last year while ADCC stepped it up to the Tmobile Arena the home of the UFC.
highlights from CJI included 2 tournaments where the winner took home 1 million dollars after 4 fights. Kade Routolo and Andrew Tackett put on one of the best grappling matches of the year at CJI, Routolo went on to win the 1 million cash. Nicky Rodriguez took out all 4 of his opponents to claim the thef 2 million dollar prize. ADCC had a tremendous run by Adele Fornarino who won the inaugural -55 Kilo division before taking the Absolute. Ana Carolina Vieira took gold at the 65KG category with Rafaela Guedes taking Gold in the over 65KG category. Felipe Pena, Kaynan Duarte, Giancarlo Bodoni, Mica Galvao, Diogo Reis, and Kaynan Duarte Absolute where the men champions.
Craig Jones X Gabi Garcia was an entertaining special inter gender match for CJI while ADCC brought Gordon Ryan for two super fights held 1 on each day.
The amount of spectators supporting both events was outstanding. Las Vegas has grown into a mega for MMA, BJJ, Boxing, and all of combat sports. As a fan do you prefer the CJI or ADCC ruleset?
