One of the PFL’s big Free Agent acquisitions this summer was former UFC title contender Thiago Santos who faced PFL 2022 Season tournament winner Rob Wilkinson losing a decision and now most likely finding himself removed from the season with a pending suspension. Santos who received the USADA “50 clean tests” Jacket prior to leaving the UFC has now gone 1-6 in his last 7 bouts and while the 39 year old was scheduled to face Lebanese standout Mohammad Fakhreddine it seems un likely the bout will continue as scheduled.
Other fighters who tested positive for banned substances include; UFC Veteran Krzystof Jotko and heavyweights Bruno Cappelozza (former Champion) and Rizvan Kuniev who defeated Renan Ferreira and Matheus Scheffel at PFL 2
The substances each of the 4 fighters tested positive for or the length of their suspensions by the Nevada State Athletic Commission has not been released publicly as of yet. With both Santos and Jotko already scheduled for PFL 4 in Atlanta it will be interesting to see how the PFL deals with the current situation. No bouts for Cappelozza or Kuniev have been publicly announced.
